My Students

I teach 22 enthusiastic kindergarten students. It is the first classroom experience for many of my students. My students are at an age where art, movement, and dramatic play are the most meaningful and exciting times of the day. We returned to In-person learning after learning virtually for almost 7 1/2 months. Many of my students did not have the opportunity to attend in-person preschool, so it is their first school experience! My students come from many different cultural backgrounds. Some of my students are from low-income families who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, some have special needs and have an Individualized Education Plan, and others are second language learners. This diverse group of learners is eager to come to school for the first time and I can't wait to welcome them!

My Project

The easy-to-use magnetic sentence boards will help my young readers to build tons of simple sight-word sentences! The magnetic boards are color-coded magnetic board and has 14 sight-word phrase magnets, 27 picture-word magnets and 3 punctuation magnets. With your help my students will begin to build vocabulary and reading fluency during our daily literacy centers as they build and read each sentence out loud.

My young learners need easy-to-use materials to increase vocabulary, sight word practice, and sentence building.

The Sight word flip books will give the students the opportunity to practice over 100 sight words as they create fun sentences using combinations of sight words pictures and different punctuation to change the meaning or expression when reading out loud.
