Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first grade students are excited to be in school every day. They are kind, thoughtful and are always looking to help one another. We are an ICT classroom mixed with autistic and neurotypical children. They are inquisitive, attentive and eager to apply what they have learned throughout the day.

Sight words are key to being fluent readers and writers.

Many of my students are below grade level and need to practice building their sight word knowledge. What better way for children to learn is through hands-on activities. With these manipulatives added to our sight word center, it will provide my students an opportunity to become confident learners. These magnetic letter tiles, stamps, and other materials will provide them with fun ways to learn and grow. With these tools, they will continue to enhance their reading and writing skills throughout the school year
