This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

If I could describe my students in one word it would have to be AMAZING. These kids come from all over the county in order to attend a good school away from their home school which is normally in a poverty stricken neighborhood where education is not pushed or encouraged. Also at M.L.T. Educational Center is a school that is going to gear them and prepare them for life after school.

Some of my students wake up at 430 AM and take 2 or 3 public buses in order to get to school because their parents are working or they do not have a ride.

If that is not dedication and desire I don't know what is. There are days in my classroom I cant get away from the front of the class or finish the days lecture because of all the great discussions and interactions I have with my students. As their teacher all I can do is prepare a great lesson and know as much of the content that I can learn in order to be informed and answer all of their questions.

My Project

The trauma manikin will be a big help so my Emergency Medical Response students, because they will be able to practice their life saving interventions and EMT skills on this manikin. Features include: articulated joints, weight distribution according to human weight distribution chart and includes sweatpants. Making training more realistic for my student when practicing EMS Skills.

These manikins can be safely used in situations too hazardous or uncomfortable for student volunteers.

The rescue randy is used by the U.S. Military, Fire, and Police Departments, Safety Teams, and Emergency Personnel for rescue and extrication from pole top, confined spaces, collapsed buildings, smoke rooms, and ladder carry-down protocols worldwide. I'm a big believer in training the way you fight so having realistic manikins on scene can help my student take their training to the next level.
