Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Across the nation, attendance has become critical and for some students will be a roadblock to their success as adults. By estimates, over 20 million jobs will be lost to AI within the next 20 years. Students must be prepared to navigate the new landscape that they are entering.

COVID has had a terrible impact on student and parental engagement.

We must connect with the students and meet them where they are. To that end, our sophomore team is beginning an initiative to encourage students to show up to class thereby showing up for their lives.

We are asking for supplies to create gift bags for students with the best attendance and most improved attendance. Students who show up to class will always learn something. Students who show up to class will elevate their neuroplasticity every day. As students come to class every day, they are learning invaluable executive functioning skills that will provide them with the skills necessary to be successful in school and in the workforce.

This mini-grant will support their emotional development and strength-building as they make better decisions every day and see the fruits of their labor.
