Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bilingual diverse learners. They are kind and very respectful. As preteens and teenagers, they are learning new things about themselves and the world around them. They are being taught to demonstrate honor, courage, and commitment inside and outside of the classroom setting.

They work hard and they are learning to be good to all people.

We have a school-wide campaign centered around being good to all people for this year. My students love learning new skills and creating things they can share with others. They live on the northwest side of Chicago. Most of the students come from low-income families.

My Project

These hoodies and t-shirt will give our cheerleaders the opportunity to create cohesion as a newly formed cheerleading team and as a school. Having on the same uniform will help our cheerleaders bond as a team. This will also help them to form friendships that will last throughout high school and beyond.

They will learn to work together with one another.

The cheer team will design their own hoodies and t-shirts. This will give them the opportunity to work collaboratively with each other and unlock their creativity. Having on the same uniform will help our students feel proud to be a part of this cheerleading team.

Mrs. Terrell Marine Leadership Academy at Ames Grades 9-12

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
