This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am reaching out for social and emotional support through tools like calm strips and fidgets. These resources help me manage my students' emotions and maintain a sense of calm in various situations. Calm strips provide a discreet way for students to soothe themself by applying gentle pressure to their skin, which can be incredibly grounding during moments of stress or anxiety. They serve as a tactile reminder to breathe deeply and stay centered, allowing me to navigate social interactions with greater ease and confidence.

Fidgets play a crucial role in student emotional regulation as they offer a constructive outlet for nervous energy, helping them to channel any restlessness into productive movements.

Whether it's a stress ball, textured object, or a simple gadget designed for tactile stimulation, fidgets allow us all to stay focused and engaged while reducing feelings of agitation or overwhelm. By incorporating these tools into my daily routine, I am proactively seeking the support I need to foster emotional well-being and navigate social environments more comfortably.
