When students experience challenges in their lives it makes it difficult to focus at school! My students are from a low-income high-poverty community. They are either from a single parent, foster, or homeless situation or living on a single income. The range of disabilities includes Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities.
In spite of their disabilities, they are very motivated and excited to learn!
Our school is a Title I school receiving 100% free lunch, serving African American and Latino students. We strive to prepare our students to be college and career ready and one way is to teach them about taking charge of their own learning. Whatever challenges their home and community bring, the school will still be a safe haven for them.
My Project
The Bulletin board bundle will help create an opportunity for my students to showcase diversity, equality and inclusion we have in our class. The bulletin boards are used through out the day as a visual reminder and reference by students for lesson objectives, essential questions, vocabulary, standards, and a place for our acmchor charts. It is also in our special education class through projects, arts and STEM activities.
The fadeless paper and borders will be used to showcase projects, writing samples and arts and STEM projects to show how diversity and equality is emphasized in our special eduaction classroom.
We are excited to share diversity and equality in our inclusive classroom! Do you want to be a part of it?
