Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special because they try very hard to be successful despite socioeconomic challenges. Many want to become lawyers or go into law enforcement. We are a Title I school serving a high-need population with dedicated teachers to support our students' dreams and help them overcome systemic barriers.

We are in dire need of technology, particularly Chromebooks that will assist with inquiry driven research by my students.

Students learn best when they have questions and use technology to find their answers. These Chromebooks will allow each small group to share one per table. Ultimately I aim to get funding for each student to get their own, but this is a great start to get them started.

My Project

The internet connects people to the world and your donation will help my ICT Forensic Science students become global citizens.

Students are curious and ask many questions.

Chromebooks will provide access to their answers. Students learn best when learning is personalized to their interests.

Each group will engage in discussion to devise an inquiry based on the mini-lecture and text. They will use the Chromebooks to answer their research question and present their findings to the class, citing to reputable sources.

These four Chromebooks will allow for each small group of five or six students to have one per table. They each deserve to have one for their own individual use like kids that go to well-funded schools, but this will be a good start to begin to insure equity for my kids.
