Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low-income families who have not all had the opportunity to experience everything the world has to offer them. They are able to use what is provided to them inside the classroom, but would love to enhance their learning even more! My students are eager to learn, and would benefit from hands-on activities and other resources that will allow them to grow.

Knowing that many of my students are unable to afford educational materials necessary to grow, I am eager to find a way to provide it to them on my own!

My Project

As a NYC teacher, my dream is to provide my students with as many opportunities and experiences as possible. This year, my second graders will be engaged in a computer science program- a whole new world to them! I am excited to be able to teach and inspire my students to use technology in a creative, productive, and fun way! One of our major projects will be working with Scratch, a program that allows us to create online projects through coding.

My students need an Apple TV in order to share their projects full screen, showing off their amazing work!

Providing my class with the opportunity to present their creative scratch projects with us will allow each student to feel a sense of pride in their work.
