My Students

For most of my students, this is their first time attending school. So it is my goal to spark their interest in all aspects of their academics.

Pre-kindergarten students are very enthusiastic learners!

We are at a Title I school with a very high percentage of students and families living in low income homes. Most of my students are English language learners. While poverty and language can present barriers for my students, they are learning not to let their challenges get in the way of education. As their teacher, it is my job to create excitement in their daily routines at school in order to make their school experience fun and worthwhile.

My Project

Sixty-five percent of the population are visual learners. It is probably more when we consider our youngest learners. In teaching pre-k children, there is no doubt that we should teach to accommodate the various learning styles. However, children grasp concepts more quickly when ideas are presented to them visually.

With the help of a document camera and a projector, I will not only be able to explain ideas to my students, I will also be able to show them and connect how these concepts relate to their world. These tools will be used in the various subject areas, including the arts.
