This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Greetings,
I am a first grade teacher in an urban school. I am anticipating 16-18 students in my room during this upcoming school year. My children often deal with many issues stemming from academic, social, and/or emotional issues. I am always striving for better ways to reach my students.
I am requesting these storytelling kits as a means of giving my students fun and creative ways of developing their comprehension skills. I find that my students often have a difficult time telling me information about a book or story they have read. By being in a form of dramatic play, my students can "act out" the story.
These storytelling kits will give my students the opportunity to work alone or as a group to recreate the story.
Thank you so much for supporting my busy classroom and helping us to meet the needs of our young learners.
