My Project

It is never too early to teach students about financial literacy, and building onto their foundational skills, such as number sense, will allow them to be one step closer to becoming experts on handling money.

Many of my students with disabilities need materials that allow them to learn through a multi-sensory approach, and the materials I am requesting will allow them to do so.

With the magnetic base-ten blocks, ten frames, money, and dry-erase number lines, it will not only make explicit instruction more sound, but it will help the students bring numbers, math situations, and problems to life. Similarly, the cash register will teach the students how to spend, save, and handle money.

The students will be able to compare, add, and subtract numbers, as well as money. All of these tools will help my students understand the variety of ways numbers can be represented.
