Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Show me the money will be easier to play when you show me the funding! My class is in need of hands-on materials for our math center. It is so important to have items the students can work with to help them learn. Math can be a difficult subject, but with visual materials it becomes easier.

I am a kindergarten teacher in New York and I've found that a hands-on approach to teaching is the best way for children to learn.

My school is made up of many low income families, ELL students and students with special needs. These students learn best if they can use their hands and visually see what you are teaching them. A lesson can make a stronger, permanent connection when hands-on materials are used.

My Project

My class is in need of money games, activities and big coins. These math materials will help my students learn the different values of coins as well as how to count and exchange money. These hands-on materials will also help those students that are visual learners. The big money materials will be used during the math lesson for the whole group. The games and partner activities will be used for math center time in small groups. There will be independent groups, some small group instruction and one-on-one instruction. The materials you help fund will be used as a tool to make the lessons connect in the minds of these young learners.

Your help will enable my students to understand money concepts.

For kindergarten students this can be a hard concept to get. The big coins will help visual learners understand. The games and activities use "play" to connect in a fun and productive way. Your help can make the difference for my students to become interested in finance and becoming successful accountants or bankers in the future. It's the little things now that create big things later. Let's help create big successes together!
