Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders are eager to become global citizens and learn about the world around them. These thoughtful, curious, inquisitive young scholars and scientists are hungry for learning. They enjoy creative brain breaks, challenging real-world math problems, and critical thinking. Above all, they value being kind and being fair. I have never been prouder of a group of students.

We are a Title I public school in eastern Las Vegas full of kind, thoughtful, inquisitive young learners.

Our inclusion classroom welcomes a plethora of different types of learners and embraces all.

My Project

I am requesting money themed games to reinforce place value, addition, and subtraction math skills. I am requesting learning centers to teach my third graders about the economy and making smart money decisions. I am requesting materials that will be used both in whole group instruction and in small groups for review and extension.

Figuring out change in real-world scenarios is a struggle that many of my students face, so I am requesting money-themed activities to bridge math concepts with life skills.

Learning about how the economy works, the roles we play, and money is a crucial skill that my third graders need to be successful.
