My Project

My students love to write and this year we are working on improving our writing skills. We do this in small groups using clipboards and white-boards and lots of writing paper. The copy paper will be used to print lines for them to follow to improve their handwriting skills. These materials will help my students have options when writing, making it fun and challenging. Many of my students come from single family homes and do not have opportunities to work with someone at home. These experiences will help them enjoy the writing process and become better writers. The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Using the workshop model in math, students come to the rug with whiteboards for guided practice and to record modeled strategies.
