My Project

Students will learn about real-life earning, spending, and saving to purchase items at the Holiday Store. All students will start out with a checkbook that has a 10.00 deposit in it. I will introduce the financial literacy vocabulary about deposits, withdrawls, debits, taxes, earning, and spending. Throughout the week students will have ways to earn money to deposit into their account. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays they will get to browse the Holiday Store that has prices on items that they may purchase. They will have the opportunity to purchase, see items they may want to save for, or work harder for at the store weekly. They will have to learn how to figure out tax on purchases to make sure they have the funds.
