Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our girl's basketball student-athletes are not only determined on the court but in the classroom as well. They work hard to maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and know that the student part of the athlete comes first. Most are from low-income families and do not have supplies to practice at home, school is where all of our training is done. Although, parents do their best to support, it not always easy to get supplies or things needed for the team.

My Project

Donating to our project will help our girls get the proper training equipment necessary for furthering our abilities as a team. Having multiple basketballs and basketball goggles will help our girls work on their dribbling and passing and other critical skills needed to be a strong player. Having hurdles will help with our girl's conditioning exercises, jumping, and more. Without these supplies, it is hard to grow our program as strong and competitive athletes and limits our position as a team against other teams. The sports program in our school is very new but vital to the interest of many of our students.
