My Students

My school is Title I. Over 90 percent of our student population are receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

My students always have so much energy and want to go outside to play.

My first graders are begging to try out the basketball hoop. However most of the time, there were intermediate grades using PE field and even though no one is using PE field, those basketball hoops were too tall for my students.

If we can have the basketball hoop for my student's size and the balls which are not so hard and not so big for their little hands, my students will be thrilled.

My Project

My students are full of energy. But at the PE time, we do not have much choice for exercise. PE field is reserved for upper grades and usually primary grades go to the playground.

My students are begging to take them to PE field to shoot the balls if no one is there.

However those hoops in the PE field are too tall for my first graders. Also the regular basketballs are too big for their little hands.

My students need to learn to hold the ball in the correct way and how to throw the balls using the balls fit for their hands. Then, my students will learn to focus and aim to the hoop.

It will help them with their motor skills and physical activities.
