This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are young, excited learners with diverse backgrounds. They are always eager to take on new challenges and explore. My students are high achievers from various economic backgrounds. Our school is considered to be a school of need according to the number of students that qualify financially for the free lunch program.
My students are talented and love learning.
As their teacher, I want to make sure they have my total support in reaching their goals and dreams. They dream big!
My Project
For our new track season, we have a larger team from last year. We did so well last year that it motivated other students to try out. We had so many talented students, we ended up with a very large team.
We are in need of team shoes for our boy track members to wear for field events only because they are not able to wear our normal team track shoes that we do provide.
We have several students that can't afford the new shoes; therefore, we would like to provide the boy field event participants with matching team shoes to wear to practice and meets.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
