Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in a low socioeconomic neighborhood, we are a title one school, our students come from many different countries and speak different languages. As a teacher, I strive to find the leader in each student and encourage them to love school via art. In my opinion, every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my classes strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects of their academic life.

My classes consists of 160 amazing students.

Of those 160, most of them are English learners and some are special education students. They all have a think win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community. We participate in many art activities within our community as it gives the students a great sense of belonging and pride for their work.

My Project

These frames will encourage my students to continue working hard everyday, knowing that they may have the opportunity to represent our school with their art work framed, in some of the galleries and community events. The students feel a tremendous amount of pride when they share their art with family members, friends and the community, these accomplishments in art, help increase each student confidence to strive in their core classes. The frames are very important because all the schools showcase art in frames and many of our students can not afford to buy their art supplies or frames to participate in any event.
