Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This school year I have a total of 13 students from different backgrounds. I have five boys and eight girls. The class is a self-contained gifted group that receives all their curriculum with me during the school day. I love to provide my students with the resources available to them and for that reason, I crate my project. My school is a title one school and the majority of all students are on free or reduced lunch and many of them don't have access to resources at home. I enjoy making their school year as enriched as possible to give them one hundred percent educational satisfaction. I love to expose my students to different genres and styles of literature. With the help of a donor, I can enrich my classroom.

My Project

For the majority of students, homework and lessons are manly online. Working in a title one school means most of my students are on free and reduce lunch and a computer at home usually isn't the case. With Hurricane Irma this school year, a set back was in place because our school calendar was pushed back and computer centers weren't distributed among all classes. An extra HP Laptop will shift my students into a better chance for success during testing.

There are so many reasons a classroom should have a computer center for all students.

For one, keeping in touch with current events is important in today's classroom. Also, laptops are the cutting edge and with limited space, they are very particular. Most importantly, with the high demand of computer base testing in today's classroom, it is imperative that each child have the accessibility to a computer in their classroom. I share my computers with the teacher across from me and it limits the time on the computer my students have. I brought my own laptop from home to try to create a computer center in my class, and with an additional computer, t would really help the success of my students.
