This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a social worker teaching at a South Bronx middle school seeking funding for noise-canceling earphones for my students.

When there is a lot of noise in the classroom during independent work, my students who work better in quiet environments have trouble concentrating.

Having noise-canceling earphones will help block out external noise. This will allow those students who need silence to focus during independent learning an easier time focusing on their work.

Ultimately, this improved concentration will improve academic grades and performance on state math and ELA exams.
