My Students

Prior to moving to the new location, students would enter the library before school to read, write and research. Nowadays, students are limited in their ability to use the materials that we have because of the lack of sufficient shelving. The hope is to rebuild our library.

My students need the ability to use the many books that we have in our library.

The problem is that no one can tell the wonderful books that we have because we have no place to put the books. Without shelves, our fantastic books will remain in boxes no being read by students. Our students are inner city, poverty stricken students who are seeking a better life by attending a school which focuses on training them to get jobs at the port. Our students are driven to achieve through diligent work and focus. Our school has just moved and our new library does not exist because our shelves at our old building were permanent and could not be moved with us. This is why our new location has a room for the library but no shelving.

My Project

Once the books have shelves, our students will be able to check out materials and research. The shelves will help to organize our materials. Our students will be able to use the books that are neatly organized and visible on the shelves to further their studies and enjoy for quiet reading. The donations to this project will improve the library because we currently have no shelves. In many ways we are building a library up from the ground. Our students need books to read, research and enjoy. Shelving is the key to bringing books into the hands of our students.

The donations will improve the library by allowing more books to be shelved and thereby increasing the circulation of materials.

The students lives will be improved for the better because they will have access to books for research and pleasure.
