My Students

We have all of these great books and supplies to have a great science center but we have nowhere to store it.

Our school is in the heart of East Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY.

The school includes students from Pre-k to eighth grade, and it is a melting pot of descendants from the West Indies. The school is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the students in the school receive free lunch. There are 18 energetic, three and four year old children in my class but there are not a lot of funds to enrich these students' education because of the budget cuts.

My Project

Recently I had a project funded that has provided my Pre-Kindergarten class with lots of great science tools. I also have a lot of science themed children's books. Now I only have one problem and that is lack of storage. So now we need a shelf so all of these wonderful materials have a place to be that is accessible to my students. Having a place to organize these materials will make it easier for my students to use independently.

Everything in my pre-kindergarten classroom is there to benefit my students.

This shelf will help ensure my students get to use our science materials independently as it organizes these materials.
