My Students

Practice makes perfect is indeed a cliche but in math constant reinforcement is definitely a MUST. Sharpener, pencil, and lined paper are the three of the most important tools in mastering the basic and the very core and foundation of Mathematics.

Our students are excited about this year's academic calendar.

They love and enjoy practicing and mastering their math facts. These students come from an urban area and are from reduced monetary circumstances. In this economy, students' families are really struggling to meet the basic necessity both in the home and school. The school is a targeted Title -1 where most of the students are currently below the poverty line. However, this situation should not be a hindrance for them to learn and be successful.

My Project

This project allows them to practice and show what they know in math. Sharpener, pencil, and lined paper are definitely three of the most essential tools in math. Constant practice by showing and writing what they know will help them improve their math skills. Presently, in a standardized test, brief and extended constructed responses are a highly tested skill. It means that students should be able to show their work by writing it either by numbers, words, or symbols. This skill requires practice and constant reinforcement for the students to master it.

Writing in Math (brief and extended constructed responses) is one of the highly tested skills in a state standardized test.

With this project, my students will have a better and more rigorous practice in writing and showing their work on the paper. For us to make this possible, we certainly need pencils, sharpener, and lined paper. Please consider this project - and thank you in advance.
