Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our school is located in the beautiful and diverse city of San Antonio in Texas. We have a multi-cultural population who mainly come from all over the city for science and STEM-based learning.
These students come from diverse families and include English language learners and students with special needs.
We work very hard to make sure that our school is a safe place for students and families. Right now with a brand new merged class of second graders, we now have 27 students in our room with more coming soon! This brings new challenges with space and materials but we’re up for the challenge! We also have Arts and Crafts club and Book Club after school in our room that share our learning materials and space.
We would love for every student coming to school wanting to learn and ready to learn and to fall in love with learning, but sometimes we have to help them fall in love with learning. Thank you for your part in that!
My Project
For this project, I am requesting things I truly know would immediately benefit my students.... pencil sharpeners and a gift card for TeachersPayTeachers! We have been using pencil sharpeners that I bought from the store but have unfortunately burned through their motor due to heavy use.
We write a ton and need sharpeners that can keep up with us!
We also do many hands-on sorting, cutting, gluing, and interactive activities from TPT and there are so many more I would love to buy the kids. TPT is a school resource where teachers create and sell things that they create to other teachers.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
