Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Reach for the stars," is our classroom motto, but this is hard to achieve when the gifted students in my class are being held back do to the lack of enrichment activities.

The students who attend Allentown public schools have a lot of challenges to face; poverty, violence, lack of involvement, etc.

My classroom consists of 21 students, all on different academic levels, but they have one thing in common. They have high expectations and want to do everything they can to achieve these dreams.

My Project

Providing students with these resources will help provide enrichment activities for the "over achievers" in my class. The math resources such as Math 24, will allow the students to practice math problems. The language arts activities such as the prefix and suffix magnets and the punctuation marks, will be used as a station to promote higher order thinking.

For the first time since I have been teaching I have the opportunity to work with a handful of gifted students.

The problem is due to lack of funding, I do not have the materials to meet the needs of these students. All my students have high expectations and dreams. Providing these materials will help me meet the need of all my students.
