My Students

When students come into the classroom in the morning, one of the responsibilities that they look forward to each day is sharpening their much needed pencil. Without a sharpened pencil it is difficult to get much accomplished.

The children at our school come from economically challenged households where they are lucky if they even have a pencil to use at home.

I find that my students will often ask for pencils to take home or ask to use the pencil sharpener at the end of the day so they can be successful at completing their homework

My Project

The pencil sharpeners will allow students to always be ready for any learning task. If their pencil breaks they will not have to worry about how they will sharpen it. Whether it's a math, reading, or writing lesson the students will know that the pencil sharpener is just a few feet away and they will be able to continue learning in a matter of seconds.

A pencil sharpener is such a simple, but necessary element of every classroom.

All students should be provided with the best possible learning environment. Without sharpened pencils where would we all be today?
