Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I elementary school located in Houston's diverse community of the East End. The majority of my students come from low-income households and are recent immigrants. They are faced with many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. My students do not let the obstacles they face prevent them from learning. They have a thirst for knowledge and bring a diverse culture to our school.

My students attend online or face-to-face classes eager to learn and are supportive in helping others learn too.

They love learning and cannot wait to return to school! They really flourish in a classroom that is full of engaging activities that allow them to problem solve and create.

My Project

Throughout the day, my writers are working on getting sharp, both with their pencils and Language Arts and US History studies! I have selected these various classroom items to meet these school supply needs. Though it sounds simple, it can be a challenge for my students to complete their writing and history assignments when they are in constant need of repairing a broken pencil. These nifty personal sharpeners can travel with the students from class to class. I have also selected a class sharpener and a colored pencil sharpener for any students who may need it, so their learning won’t skip a beat!
