My Project

Supplementing the adopted district curriculum is so critical in differentiating and making the content meaningful and accessible for my students. Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) is a marketplace for teachers to exchange instructional materials and access easy-to-use digital tools. With these TPT gift cards, I will purchase a variety of reading passages and activities for my classroom as well as the grade level and school that I work at.

I am making a high frequency heart word program for my students, and we have gone through our school's supply of paper clips and colored paper.

This will replenish these as well as provide vinyl for labeling our board as well. It is going to be a great display, but even more important, the students will be more engaged with learning their sight words and in turn, become better readers.

All of these learning experiences are researched-based and will be engaging for my students. Providing materials at my students' individual levels will help them build confidence, reduce stress, and build a love for reading. I am an intervention teacher who teaches 40 sweet, enthusiastic students in the area of reading. My students are kindergartners through third graders, and they represent a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

The excitement that lights their faces when they read a new word or are able to effectively utilize a reading strategy is an inspiration for my teaching.
