Have you ever worked so hard on a project that you could not wait to share with your peers? What if there is no easy, convenient way for sharing?
The students in our classroom are amazing, innovative, enthusiastic learners.
They love to create and engage in learning. We have a very diverse group of students from low special ed to very high gifted kids in our classroom. Project base learning is a way in which ALL students in our classroom learn.
My Project
This device will give students a central place to open and share their digital projects to the class. We have students who are bringing their own devices and creating projects to share but there is not a good, easy way to share them with the class. As of right now our eight and nine year old students are expected to get into the settings switch their wireless Internet to a different network, log in, find our classroom computer, and figure out how to get on airserver. LOTS of steps for third graders. This would allow us to keep it on one setting and the students would be able to get to their projects with much more ease to share with their classmates. This computer would also be used to back up and control our current iPads that our classroom has.
This project will make a huge impact in our classroom.
Sharing is learning. Students who can create and share their knowledge not only are learning more themselves they are teaching others as well. Providing students with authentic, meaningful opportunities to apply their learning translates into deeper understanding of the material. Do you want to pour yourself into a project and share it with no one? No. Neither do our students. They take pride in their work and want to share with the class.
