Help me give my students books that they may relate to because they are learning about people and cultures that are as unique as each of them are.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a class of multicultural and multilingual children in a large school in Bronx, New York. I create a family environment with my students whom I engage in teaching through various methods. I encourage my students to work cohesively and learn from one another.
My students get excited when they tackle something new, and I love to watch them learn how to work together to discover new methods to solve different problems.
Since many of my students are learning English for the first time and many are new to the country, they all particularly enjoy and benefit from hands-on experiences. Each year, I am awestruck by how much my students grow academically, and socially, in such a short amount of time.
My Project
Multicultural books are a vital part of any classroom environment. I am trying my best to expand my class library with books that my students can relate to. I want the children in the Bronx to know that they are capable of anything and everything and they need to make sure they embrace and love who they are and where they come from. Along with social-emotional growth, my students should be exposed to literature that is realistic to them and gives them a sense of belonging. I want my students to always believe, "I can do that too!".
