My Project

DonorsChoose helped us complete our set of timpani last year and my students have taken pride in learning to play them! We have many students who have shown a competitive interest in outshining each other to make sure that they get selected to perform the most challenging repertoire.

We are lacking the variety of mallets timpanists use to shape diverse musical moments.

With your contribution, we will acquire mallets of different shapes, softnesses, and materials to allow our artists to have options that suit composers' intentions in a wide variety of different musical styles.

Timpanists frequently keep ten or more pairs of mallets handy for any given performance, very much a Goldilocks situation: our two pairs are often "too soft" or "too hard," and are rarely "just RIGHT" for our needs!
