Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students will explore shadow play and theatrical lighting design through these materials! We will discuss how light refracts, the history of puppets in theater, how to create lighting shapes and much more! Students will be able to create their own shadow plays from scratch using these materials! In an effrot to ingrate the arts with core curriculum classes, this project will tie in with STEM and STEAM curriculums in grades 3-5. This is a fun project that will reach about 200 students in our burgeoning theater program. I hope you can make our new lighting unit a possibility!
