I teach in a lower to middle class primary school. Our school serves students pre-k through 2nd grade. We do receive Title I finding. I teach Kindergarten. I have 16 students, they are Causcasian, African-American, Hispanic, and Indian. All of my students enjoy learning. I am amazed at their little brains, just soaking up every word I say. I am blessed to be able to teach them to read. Kindergarten is the new first grade. I enjoy teaching reading! It's so hard, yet so rewarding! I love watching the children learn letters in isolation, to letters to form a word, then on to read a sentence, book, then everything!
I plan to use exercise mats during our 20 minute recess time. Due to an extensive construction project, our playground is limited. This construction project will last the entire school year. Therefore, I will need to plan recess activities in our classroom.
Students will benefit from stretching exercises on a foldable mat.
The mat also comes in its own drawstring bag. I believe this mat will be perfect for the students as they can fold it up and store it in the bag when not in use. Also, due to COVID restrictions, each child's mat will be contained. Of course, the mats will be cleaned on a regular basis. I know that my students will enjoy using their exercise mat to stretch, exercise, and rest their minds.
