Sexuality Education for People With Developmental Disabilities
I need Sexuality Education for People with Developmental Disabilities to teach in a cognitively accessible way about different kinds of relationships, communication, sexual anatomy, sexual feelings/attraction, and more!
Our magnificent class focuses on helping students with mod/severe disabilities learn transitional skills to become their most independent and successful selves as they mature into adulthood.
What makes our class extra special is how we integrate technology to make the world accessible.
All of my students depend on assistive technology to reach the goals and dreams that they have for themselves. Technology is such a gift to my students. It allows them to access mobility, gives them the ability for expressive communication and more.
My Project
All teens and adults need to be taught the sometimes complex nature of the birds and the bees. For our adult students with developmental disabilities, we as teachers need a specialized adapted curriculum to accomplish this goal.
In the Sexuality Education for People with Developmental Disabilities curriculum, the curriculum is written to make sexuality education cognitively accessible to our adult students with mod/severe disabilities.
The curriculum includes a vast array of topics such as different types of relationships, communication, decision making, sexual anatomy, sexual feelings/attraction and acts, the implications of having a child, and much more. Please consider donating to our project to bring this much-needed curriculum to our young adults with special needs!
