My students are incredible young people that are creative, artistic, and have a wonderful sense of wonder and discovery. They are kind and caring children that want to do good in the world. Our classroom focuses on being kind, understanding, helpful, and positive role-models to all. They use their skills to work together, design, create, problem solve, learn, and try new things. They bring excitement, inspiration, and perseverance to all learning areas. Fourth grade is a time of discovery and my students face this with grace each and every day!
Our classroom is focused on STEM learning and building cross-curricular connection that students can use in the "real world" throughout their lives, which brings us to this fun STEM learning experiences.
Our goal with this project is to build more hands-on, life long skills that connect math, language arts, social studies, art, and science. They will learn to sew, create, take risks, trust their creativity, design, problem solve, and think critically. Learning these skills in combination with home economic skills, they are encouraged to be resourceful and take initiative in their own goals and learning.
Sewing, mending, quilting, and fiber art skills can be used throughout their life. This is a beautiful way to build on their STEM learning and project-based, hands-on learning experiences. Thank you for supporting our local fourth graders in their learning journey!
