Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our high school has been the birthplace of the fashion industry since 1926. Every student that has graduated from our school may have not continued into the fashion path yet has been prepared for the continuing road to college and in the past the workforce.

Our mission of teaching the arts and the industry of fashion remains unmatched by any other US high school.

Our students are super talented and committed to their artistic dreams. They continue to be NYC residents that come from financially challenged families and despite these obstacles, prove to be resilient and driven.

My Project

A sewing machine is an essential tool for all students that have decided to pursue fashion as their future career. Due to the pandemic, students are not able to come to school where there are rooms full of sewing machines.

Owning a sewing machine give fashion students unlimited power to create and bring to life their designs.

The potential a creative young adult has is unlocked when they are armed with the tools and equipment they need to make their talent come alive.

This is the goal we have with this project.
