This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My artists are SEW and are excited to meet after school for our Craft Club! Our Craft Club's mission is to build community and develop our creativity. This year, we are designing and sewing our very own plushies! My students have already started sketching their designs, and they cannot wait to bring them to life. While sewing, my artists will learn valuable life skills like threading needles, sewing buttons, and various stitches.

Before we can begin, we need some essential sewing supplies.

We will use sewing scissors to cut our thread and tiny felt details to give our plushies personality. Pinking shears are necessary for cutting woven fabrics to provide our plushies with fun costumes. Quilting rulers are perfect for drawing guidelines and cutting patterns. AMyCraft Club students will use these basic sewing supplies for years.
