Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is meant for students who are in lower socio-economic areas to learn a life skill of sewing. This is extremely important for those who need to know how to sew on a button, a patch or even just sew up a hole on a pair of shorts. This life skill is something that can be carried with them throughout their life to boost confidence.

Knowing how to sew your own clothes, fix a tear in your clothes while at work, or even helping a friend put back on a button will provide a sense of self-wroth that cannot be compared to other skills.

Just like braiding hair or driving, these skills help promote positive self-identity and empower students to take initiatives in their own lives.
