My Students

My students are such great kids. They are fun and love to do hands on learning projects. Many of them face hardships beyond comprehension. Some are caregivers to their younger siblings while their parents work a second job. Some are living in poverty or helping work at a family business. All come to school with hopes and dream of a better future.

My Project

My students have been sewing on a serger that is over 20 years old. They need a more updated machine. Our current one is not working properly and has been discontinued so parts are not available. Many of my students have been struggling to form connections since Covid. My hope is that providing stools that can easily be move around the room will facilitate more connections to their fellow students. The students also need some stools for lab days so that they can work with peers on projects. This allows them to interact with groups in at the machines or in the kitchens.
