Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a diverse set of students. Most come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. I see how much of their needs still need to be met before the learning process can even begin. My hope is to make their lives easier and to encourage them to keep learning. Even though my students have so much to overcome in their personal lives, they still show up and have that drive to better themselves. As their teacher, I want to provide them with all the resources they need to succeed.

My Project

These materials will help my students start off the school year on the right foot. It will allow them to have access to different tools they will need to make this year a successful one. Some materials on here will also be used to create a welcoming and inclusive environment in the classroom. The donations to this project will help to improve the students school life by having a classroom full of welcoming decor, snacks (most of my students come from low-income homes), and school supplies. Having these materials available to them to meet their needs, it will help create a sense of relief for them. Creating a comfortable environment filled with resources they can use, will help the students perform and learn by being engaged during class.

In my years of teaching I have learned that students needs have to be met before the learning process can begin.

I am excited to receive these donations and bring them into my classroom to set up my students for success this school year!
