This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A sensory-friendly environment is crucial for children because it provides a safe and supportive space that accommodates their sensory needs. Many children, especially those with sensory processing challenges, autism, or ADHD, may feel overwhelmed by loud noises, bright lights, or chaotic settings.

A well-designed sensory-friendly environment reduces these stressors by offering calming elements such as soft lighting, quiet zones, and tactile activities.

This allows children to self-regulate their emotions and behaviors, promoting a sense of security and focus. The lamps, light covers, and sound machine will help my students to better be able to learn, build social connections, and develop critical coping skills, ensuring they thrive both academically and emotionally.
