Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fifth-grade students at BES are creative, inspired, and capable of academic success. They strive to do their best in the classroom by using the tools provided for them. Ninety-three percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Over 35% of my students receive educational assistance from Special Education or English as a Second Language program.

A traditional classroom environment works for some students, but most students need flexibility in their learning, incentives, and extra organizational materials.

Basic tables and chairs, required assessments, fewer​ recess times, and lives stimulated by video games combine to develop students who are constantly moving and need optional seating.

My Project

Having supplies available to students will assist them as they complete their assignments throughout this school year. Pencils and earphones are constantly needed in the classroom. Work flip charts are useful during independent, partner, and group work times, because they allow the students to quietly notify the teacher when they need assistance.

Providing my students with fun seating and incentive choices will help them increase their focus and achievement in the classroom.

They love to have choices to sit on exercise balls and chairs. Motivating students is the key to learning success.
