My Students

The exploration of science can be a magical and insightful journey for students. I love bringing hands-on, science experiences to my students through experiments and labs. I am an advocator for STEM education, for its fundamentals are what drives our society and professional careers.

My students are inquisitive individuals who enjoy the thrill of a good challenge.

As students at a full time gifted school, they thrive on meaningful and authentic lessons where application and relevance are evident. We lack materials to allow us such exploration in the subject of science. My students have all been identified as children with specific goals and needs to address their giftedness. They are spirited and expressive children, whom enjoy working together in groups to create product assessments. As a campus specifically designed to accommodate the needs of gifted learners, we deliver an accelerated pace and curriculum where extension activities are needed for enrichment purposes.

My Project

With the requested materials, I will be able to conduct four different labs with my students that address different science and math skills we cover throughout the year. Instead of being mere observers of new material, these labs will emerge my students in the application process.

This STEM kit covers the topics of Newton's laws of motion, how parachutes work, to finally having the students create their own space landers.

The STEM model of teaching puts science, technology, engineering, and math together in a lesson. These areas and fields of profession are paving the future for our youth. Help me bring critical math and science skills to life and cultivate STEM learners!
