My Students

I love the question "what makes your students special" knowing that everything is not the best answer but it is most certainly true. My students are eager to learn and want to do their best daily. Their confidence is contagious and they make teaching the best job around.

I teach at a Title I school with diverse students from all walks of life.

Many of the students receive free/reduced lunch and also receive "backpack buddies" which provides them with food and snacks for the weekend. Despite the challenges they may face, my students come to school ready to do their very best.

My Project

Set the stage to engage is all about engagement and creating a space for surprise and excitement for my students. I will be using the cardboard cutouts to create many room transformations. From "Toy Story" to "Wizard of Oz", my students will have many magical experiences in the classroom. If we can't go to Disney World, Disney will come to us.

Creating room transformations for my students will allow my students to experience the power of their own imagination.

Magical moments stick with each of us, and I want to create many of those experiences for my current and future students. I've created simple room transformations and my students have referenced it to "the best day ever" and "school is so fun". The supplies in this project, especially the character cutouts, will take room transformations to another level, along with their imagination and engagement.

My students deserve magical moments. They deserve those moments that will stick with them forever. I will incorporate all of these supplies into our Reading instruction and engagement will be out of this world.
