Help Mrs. Hicks

I teach in a PreK-5 public elementary school. I have taught second grade for twelve years, then third grade and am now moving to first grade. Since I am moving down, I wish to increase my classroom library to fit the level of reading abilities in my first grade classroom. I would like to have a variety of books at the beginning of 1st grade level but different levels knowing that the students will come into my classroom at varying abilities and levels. I have built a classroom library of second and third grade books, but do not have as many lower level books. I need help in remedying that. An effective library is one with at least 2000 books. This library needs to have a variety of levels as well as genres. I would appreciate any help that I get attain in purchasing books for my children. What better way to help a child's education than to the gift of a book. These books will not only aid the students in this years� class but in classes to come in the future. First grade is the beginning and you can help lay the foundation for a child's education.
