As a first year teacher, I am thrilled to be working with such a diverse group of kindergarten learners. The students are of mixed abilities, cultures, and experience levels, however, what they all have in common is their love for learning. They are excited and positive about learning each day, and not only do I teach them, but I learn so much from them as well.
My students are special because they all have something new to bring to the table.
My Project
I am requesting four Amazon Kids Edition Fire Tablets for my kindergarten classroom. During guided reading time, students break into groups to work on specific reading strategies. These Fire Tablets would be very helpful for students to work in small groups on Raz Kids. This will allow them to independently target specific skills that we are studying.
Learning through technology is the currently accepted practice.
It makes learning more engaging for students who are technology natives. There are many apps that they can use to build specific skills, including text-to-speech for students who are not native English speakers or for students who are struggling with sight words.
Thank you for your consideration in helping my students.
