Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are very special to us and we like to show our appreciation for all their hard work.

Myself and the rest of our staff host a school wide brunch for our students several times a year.

We do it to celebrate those who reach their goal to graduate at end of quarter, being that we are a continuation school we graduate students every quarter. We also have this brunch to celebrate our students who come to school give it their all despite going through adversity. This year we want to have a huge celebration that will include our students and their families. We want to do a Dia de Los Muertos celebration in which students will bring their families to present them their Dia de Los Muertos altar in remembrance of their ancestors.

In the past all our staff has pitched in to buy the food products and bring their small appliances and kitchen tools to make these celebrations possible. Now we are humbling asking for your help. We have request a huge variety of products including, a griddle, a hot and cold water dispenser, Mexican candy, goody bags, pancake mix and syrup, two toasters, marshmallows, Nutella and cherries.
