Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our students are a diverse group of learners who live and attend school in the heart of our city. Unfortunately, they have very limited access to books. Their library has limited hours, and there are no bookstores in this part of the city. Many of them are struggling with reading, and don't have experiences that help them understand how exciting reading can be.
Series books are a great way to engage children with reading and expand their exposure to print while having fun!
Series books hook children into reading and help them build stamina and increase their reading volume. My plan is to rekindle excitement about reading through a study of series books.
My Project
Do you remember getting lost in your favorite series books as a child? Think back to the feeling of security that a shelf full of series books gave you as a reader. Children need to hook into these series books as they become more proficient at reading to help them build stamina and volume. The more they read, the better they get at reading!
Giving children access to various series books that they want to read is an investment in their future as lifelong readers.
My students are struggling readers who lack books in their homes. They need to experience reading as a pleasurable endeavor and to know what it feels like to get lost in a book.
